We had not bought any new stuff though, so it sort of didn't matter that much what they did as long as they paid their rent. We kicked the all out once I got pregnant, filled the house with kids instead And the Kids Don't even Pay Rent! News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

I going through the same thing right now. Recently divorced with a 2600 square foot house. But, im not interested in having a roomate other than for the financial help. I had bad experiences in college with roomates and will only have one that I totally trust. Dont do it unless you have to, or cant afford it otherwise. Thats my opinion. I've never had a lodger but I know a few people who do.
It's important to take up references before your lodger comes in - one should be business/work and one should be a bank. Write to the bank saying you're a potential landlord and check that they can cover the rent. Also, take a deposit and have a rental agreement in place. x
