I was watching "Next" last night, and there was this chick who said she was 22, but she really looked more like 34. Just now I was on myspace, looking through classiphieds forsale/wanted, and there was this woman who's profile said she was 33 but all her pictures said she was more like 53.

If I catch someone lying about their age in real life, I'll call them out on it by saying something like :"well you must have had a hard life"...

anyway,,,

Why do some people lie about their age?

It doesn't bother me, I think it's funny.

Age is irrellevant. Maturity can come at any age. Lying about ur age simply makes it easy to lie about everything else.

That's pretty much everyone in the public eye. Models, actors, etc.

It is an odd phenomenon to say you're younger, so, like you say, you appear to be old for your age.

I'm actually 49

I thought I would have started lying by now but I haven't for some odd reason

I always say "I'm 36, and they always say "No way, I thought you were 28 or 29" which is cool with me.

But if I'm ever haggard and old looking, I won't lie.

People who don't know me always think I'm lying about my age when they see me. Luckily that first impression doesn't last for too long.

On Friday, me and two other teachers were guiding two new students in the schoolbuiding. We passed another group of students and I heard someone say 'Look, those three students have two teachers to guide them!'

There is however a difference of ten years between my students and me.
