hmmm I used to be good at conversation... I've lost the art of it over the last so many years if I'm honest

so... probably monologue now

This can be quite a radical question.

From what I've observed of others, much of "conversations" is small "monologues", people don't tend to freestyle while conversating. Rather they too often wait for their turn to say things they've said before, and have thought they would want to say.

So what's the diffrence?

I'm going to say people should think themself's better at monologues, rather then assuming they are good at conversations, because a conversation that's nothing but a duling monologues isn't very good at all.

Monologues. My self obsession dilutes my empathy potential thereby criplling my efforts to give a shit about someone elses perspective on something. I prefer telling stories to the whole listen/talk.listen thing. I got bored of that when I was about 13.

Exactly. I don't pretend to be better at conversations. But luckily enough, I have a few good friends. Over the years we've improved our way of conversating. Two days ago I had dinner with two friends. It took us 3 minutes to have a vivid conversation, in which every one talked and listened. A conversation based on interaction evolves. But it's rather rare to me.
