childbirth--uncomfortable pain or unbearable pain?

for the women who have had children...is the pain as bad as some moms make it out to be , or is it like getting a tattoo--painful to some, but not too bad for others? mothers have been giving birth for thousands of years without epidural, so it can't be that bad.....can it?

Walking through hell wearing gasoline drawls on might be slightly less painful.

Imma tell you one day, I almost cut my damn thumb off by accident prying two frozen turkey burgers apart with a knife. If that had happened after my son was born, I'da been like, "well, isn't that a shame" using my indoor voice.

gas-oh-leeeen drawls.

And people think that contractions only affect your crotch.
no, no. They make your whole blankity-blank body hurt.bad.

my son weight 8lbs 12ounces.
mutha-fuck-uh. does it hurt? i haven't had sex since he was born. he's writing and shit now.3 years old. that's how bad it hurt .

its unbearable. like somebody is banging on your tailbone with a hammer. the only other pain that can compare is a horrible toothache.

I was in absolutely no pain with either of my kids. They were both 2 weeks late, and I had to have my labor induced. I had them both very quickly and got my epidural JUST IN TIME with both of them. They were both out in a couple pushes and I felt ABSOLUTELY NO PAIN.

Till afterwards. Cuz I basically split in half. confused confused confused confused confused
And then I was in excrutiating pain for about a month afterwards. razz

GOOD LUCK!

I have a very high tolerance for pain, and believe me...it hurt like nothing I have ever felt before.

To be honest I don't even know how to explain transition labour pain. I never even felt the other labour pains until I hit transition and holy shit when I did...good God!

Those contractions were totally unbearable. Your entire body is in pain...or at least that's what it felt like for me.

My mom says that it was like having bad menstrual cramps and she pretty much rolls her eyes at any woman who says otherwise. My mother did it the all natural way because she believes that the pain medication is bad for the baby. shrug

I think this is because she wants me to have a ton of kids so she can have a ton of grandkids so she figures she better lie to me. confused

Childbirth scares the hell out of me. If I ever have any, I want to be so drugged up I don't wake up 'til they're 4!

The first time, I was in labor for 18 plus hours with no drugs. THEN I had to do a c-section because they determined that the baby was in trouble with each contraction. It was pain like I've never known. However, I went on to have two more. I guess I got over it. wink

It fucking hurts like a motherfucker!

lol

I grabbed the midwife by the collar and BEGGED her to just put me out of my misery. I wanted to die rather than continue another second. And that was 24 hours into it, it was a back labour, so on top of the contraction pain it felt like the skin on my lower back was on fire.

though if I had the choice, I would still choose childbirth over climbing Mt Fuji, but that's probably just cause I am lazy lol
