TMPletz	Obviously done to create hype for the movie in 2008, but I think this is probably a good thing. Some of the special effects shots were either reused to death or just plain awful. I have no qualms with the transporter or hand-phaser effects, though.

I actually liked the old transporter effects better, but I agree that everything else could use a facelift. Looking forward to the movie too.

I remember seeing the CGI they did for the DS9 episode "Trials and Tribble-ations" when it originally aired, and I was speechless at how cool the original Constitution class Enterprise looked. Yeah, this should be a good thing.
