I'm in however I've skipped my workout for the past 2.5 weeks due to LONG hours @ work & I can't really change that right now. Gonna hit it hard this weekend - I'm thinking if I can squeeze in 2 workouts on Saturday & (God willing) one on Sunday, I can make up for the nothingness during the week
I hate it, I feel SO much better when I'm working out. BUT I haven't gained at all, I'm still trying to lose about 10 pounds

I have similar goals and resumed running on Monday. I'd forgotten how good breathing felt after a run. I was like: "Oh, man! I gotta get back into the swing of this!"

I hate it, I feel SO much better when I'm working out. BUT I haven't gained at all, I'm still trying to lose about 10 pounds I had a goal to lose 50 by the end of the summer and I'm 12 pounds shy right now. I was 12.5 pounds shy 4-5 weeks ago. I've been playing with the same 3-4 pounds (up and down) for over a month now. It was really frustrating me till I went shopping. I'm down another clothing size in about that same amount of time. So I'm finally gaining muscle!! I want to lose about 2-3 more clothing sizes, which I'm guessing is another 40 pounds. I don't know. Now it's getting hard to tell. |

Are you working with a trainer? Thanks, and no. Just taking classes at the gym regularly (right now I'm doing a full body fitness class called 'strong' that incorporates a bit of cardio but mostly wieght lifting and core work and yoga) and watching what I eat. For all the people that have been asking, I really don't know how I'm doing it. A flip just switched in me in January this year and I just decided I needed to do this. And I have been. |

Calhoun, for the past two weeks I've been drinking strictly water(instead of juice & tea). I'm slurping down H2O like it's going out of style, and it's working like a charm.

I'm in too. I've had a lot of health problems this year. I need to change my routines to include more health conscience choices. "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind"-Dr Seuss

Yeah, that sounds like the key: eating right and working out consistently. I got down, dropped between 5 and 10 pounds earlier this year and have maintained the lighter weight. I'm hoping to continue. Ran some more (and longer) tonight, then came home and had a nice sensible dinner. I can do this. (Philippians 4:13)

Ok, so it's a new month. Time for some major changes.
1) No more Diet Pepsi. This one is gonna hurt. 2) No more chocolate chip cookies. 3) I will drink tons of water in place of my pop. 4) I will force myself to drink one glass of milk a day. 5) I will do at least 30 minutes (to start) a day on my recumbent bike. 6) I will go for a nice walk with my son every day. 7) I will eat 3 proper meals a day. 8) No more eating after 7pm. That should get some results....I hope. Anyone else want to list what they are willing to do to get in shape? And oh ya, for those that know this kind of stuff...should I also try to get in some resistance training?

My wife's lost about 3kgs in a couple of months. It bugs me she won't do it through exercise, but it is working for her. She's basically limiting her portions of rice and noodles, drinking lots of water, only eating meat once a day at the most, and cutting out all sugary stuff like soft drinks.
For my part, I haven't lifted weights for a long time due to a shoulder injury, and our skipping rope broke, so I've just been trying to drink lots of milk and been having sex more often. I need to put on a good 5kgs at least. Once I start working out properly again I'll stuff my face with burgers, full fat milk, lots of bread and pasta and as much rice as I can manage.

Eat something every 3 to 4 hours to keep your metabolism strong... Also mix low impact weight training 3 days with your cardio 3 days. Also give the body one day to heal,, also splurge on one fat ass meal a week and also be sure to work different body sections on different days of the week!! Yeah, I think it's good everyday, but that's me. Some people like to workout six days and take one off. Consistancy is what counts I think. Here is a simple health tip. Sweating every day is essential. Even if its just in a sauna. Your body needs to sweat out chemicals, salt, and basically much of the junk that ur digestive system cant filter out. (Insert something clever here)

Right now all I can do is stay on the diet Hansens/Lean Cuisine, add fruit & more water to my diet, try to work out like crazy on the weekends b/c during the week is just too packed right now Can't wait to get back to my weights 3 times a week though - trying to tone & get leaner...
