No work today because we're under a tropical storm warning and hurricane watch. Ernesto is headed for us with 45-50 mph winds and lots of rain. We're off tomorrow too because flooding is expected. I like having a day off as much as the next person, but not like this.

I got all my supplies and gassed up the car early yesterday. The last minute maniacs are out in force now. I got up early this morning to batten down the hatches, so now I'm chillin. The storm should make landfall within the hour.

I hope it's not too bad. I finally got my patio screens replaced a month ago from last year's storm and some people still don't have a roof!

Thanks guys. Right now I'm watching the crazy tourists on TV They're all at the beach swimming.

By nightfall it's expected to get worse. I hate that because at night the wind howling seems much spookier. Hopefully we won't lose power.

Update...it looks like the storm is falling apart and the worst is over. Thankfully it was no worse than a severe rainstorm. My son is on the floor laughing at our cat, Fred. Here's why...

Part of hurricane preparation is filling your bathub with water to use just in case there's no potable water after the storm for bathing, cleaning, flushing, etc. I filled the tub this morning. The bathtub is one of Fred's favorite sleeping places. I was on the phone when I suddenly heard a huge splash and my son laughing uncontrollably.

Water is all over the bathroom floor and Fred is not amused, poor thing.

He's soaking wet and looking at us like "what the f**k are you laughing at? He is PISSED!


My son is drying him off and we can't stop laughing.

I'm up by tampa, but I'll be in Hollywood again soon, we have a project down there that I've been busy with the past three weeks. It should just be rain by the time it gets to us up here.
