The Devil Wears Prada...maybe I should too?

So I saw "The Devil Wears Prada" last weekend, and I found myself sympathizing with the evil boss character more than the put-upon personal assistant character.

If I were in Anna Wintour's position, I'd be very demanding of my assistants too. If I were a PA of someone like her, I'd understand that it's going to have to become the main focus of my life, or else I'd better find other work.

And a lot of people who interview for support staff positions may talk a mean game, but when they get the job they're about as useful as tits on a flea. I can understand why people put their PAs through the paces.

I'm getting old and stodgy and siding with The Man now, aren't I? lol

I'm finally part of the problem and no longer part of the solution!!! woot!

For some reason you reminded me of Deep Impact. Tea Leoni's character knows the world is basically gonna end, but she doesn't make up with her dad until the very end. WTF?

I was glad the cgi tidal wave took her out.

I thought you wear Aeropostale and the likes...perhaps the devil wears Hugo Boss?...Lauren?....
tis better to be in control, then to be controlled. bottom line however is, there's a downside. I don't think nasty people like the Devil in Prada have alot of friends..hence bossing the peons around. sad, actually

this devil usually wears kenneth cole, cuz there's a tendency toward black. nod

i guess my point was, if you know your stuff, you need an assistant who knows their stuff and can figure out your stuff too. i think they were trying to go for a mary tyler moore vs. godzilla story, and i sided with the monster!

well, i think there's a line between keeping it professional and being a total assmonster, just like there's a line between professionalism and being too touchy-feely (socially/interpersonally, that is).

if you work in an uncompromising field like fashion or entertainment, you should expect uncompromising situations. it's nothing personal. i think that was understated in the film.

oh eep sorry redface

it was mostly fluffy chick flick-ish fun. not totally brainless but not arthouse fare either. meryl was great. supposedly anna wintour is not amused, but if i were her i'd be flattered.

read the book. the characters are a lot deeper in it, and a lot was changed for the movie. the movie was charming, and meryl rocked it HARD though
