PlayStation 3 Euro launch delayed
The launch of Sony's long-awaited PlayStation 3 games console in Europe has been delayed until March 2007. Ken Kutaragi, head of Sony's global computer entertainment division, said the machine would still be launched in November in the US and in Japan. Mr Kutaragi blamed the European delay on problems in mass producing elements of the high-definition Blu-ray disc drives in the machines. Sony said it still aimed to ship six million new PlayStations by March.

Damn u Spooky with ur quick posting fingers!!
Here's another bit of info: "In the U.S., about 400,000 PlayStation 3 machines will be available when they go on sale Nov. 17. About 100,000 will be available on the Nov. 11 Japan launch date." http://www.iht.com/articl...tation.php So 500,000 units available for its global launch?? Thats it?? Lets take a look at what average weekly sales look like in Japan: 1. Nintendo DS Lite 163,274 2. PlayStation Portable 29,945 3. PlayStation 2 21,829 4. GameBoy Advance SP 2,719 5. GameBoy Micro 1819 6. Xbox 360 1197 7. Nintendo GameCube 837 8. Nintendo DS 410 9. GameBoy Advance 14 10. Xbox 12 So with 100,000 units in Japan for a launch looks like DS Lite will still outsell it... [Edited 9/6/06 4:16am] RIP 1958-2016 Prince RIP 1947-2016 David Bowie
