she sounds like she's unable to adjust her views even though the world around her has changed.

Just because inter-racial marriage wasn't approved of in 1934, doesn't mean that she needs to feel the same way about it now in 2006. The fact that she can't incorporate new values into her belief system shows a lack of intelligence of sorts. It's sad to see.

From the this and the other article that I've read about her, it sounds like she feels that her culture is being lost due to all of the new immigrants coming into France. It can be hard to accept changes, especially when they come late in life but it's really not something she can control. She would be better off accepting it.

Besides, just because Muslims slaughter sheep doesn't make them bad. What about all of those Frenchmen who make the duck, sausage, chicken, etc. that are very prominent in French cuisine? Should they be banned from France as well?

sigh Anyway, she's an old lady. I hope she can live out the rest of her life in peace.

Deal with it folks, we are all going to be this old GOD willing, no amount of nip/tuck will cut away age. Her politics may have alienated her from most but that's what makes her beautiful in my eyes. I don't agree with all of her views but I will gladly stand up for her right to say them.

I was actually thinking the same thing.

for real. i don't see where there's a problem. she's a senior citizen of rather advanced age and she has wrinkles. big woop.

now the fashionista side of me would have preferred that she had not worn such a dark lip color at that age (i loooove the color often referred to as "vamp", but after 40, we should restrict it to our nails wink ) with such smokey eye make up, it would have lightened up her face a little to go paler with the lips...maybe something in the peach-ish, light coral range...can't decide if it should have been matte or glossy, though...

She's an animal rights activist now. I think she was speaking on cruel treatment of animals.

Maybe hatred and madness have done that to her. As I recall, the dark side ravaged Sen. Palpatine's appearance, too. But I digress...

To be fair, it's best to consider the totality of Ms. Bardot's causes in recent years. When not championing the importance of treating animals humanely, she has been one of Europe's biggest bigots, frequently railing against non-white and Muslim immigrants to France...

you know -- other humans.

She has been convicted three times for inciting racial hatred.

See?

Sometimes it makes me fear getting older.

i don't see why people fear getting old...me, i look forward to it.

I don't see why people freak out about the age of 30, 40, 50, but I do fear being at the age when all of my organs don't function properly anymore. When I hit the age where I need assistance in something as simple as going to the bathroom, then I'm not sure I'd wanna live anymore.

Sad how people can't change and adapt. But then again, if the world changes it's views on me I'm not sure I'd change with it. shrug

Perhaps you are an exception, however, there is no way that you can deny that smoking and sun exposure ages most people very prematurely.

Im sure Mach has always taken very good care of her skin, with all these organic lotions and potions. That really makes a difference nod

Also, the sun just doesnt affect some people like it does others. Some are more inherently accustomed to it....

i disagree. old or not there is a thing called respect for others. there is no way i'm gonna stand up for somebody like that. being set in one's ways is not equivelent to dementia. wrong is wrong no matter how you slice or dice it.
