There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know.
There are known unkowns. That is to say, there are things we know we don't know.
But, there are also unknown unknowns. These are things we don't know we don't know.

I read that interview, don't think Jakob'll be too happy. He was talking similar jive when Biograph came out when he said that modern music sounded like just a fax machine and how he would have became a mathematician is he'd been born after the 60's. Workingman's Blues 2 and Ain't Talkin' are two of the best songs I've heard in a long, long time. They leave a sticky residue in your head.

Then take me disappearin' through the smoke rings of my mind,
Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves,
The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach,
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow.
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free,
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands,
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves,
Let me forget about today until tomorrow...

It's that 'with one hand waving free' line that knocks over the applecart for me. It came from elsewhere and changed the perception so many clever heads. I remember when Bob was talking in the 70's saying that 'those songs came from somewhere i don;t know. i can;t write those songs no more, it doesn;t flow like that anymore. That's why I learned to paint' I like to think Bob was chosen to tap into the Akashic Records for a while to help elevate the collective subconcious of the human race. I think maybe he thinks something like that too.
