Speaking of Adrianne, where is she? Looks like Talia Shire didn't sign on for this one...

Found this on one of many Rocky sites biggrin

SYNOPSIS: Rocky Balboa will be a tragic widower in the forthcoming film Rocky VI following the death of his wife Adrian. In an effort to fight off his loneliness, Rocky decides to return to the ring. When a reigning heavyweight champion, Mason Dixon, hears of Balboa's return, he offers him a big pay off if he'll return to the ring for the fight of all fights.

"We'll try to capture the essence of the first couple of films," Sly says. "There's a computer fight between the reigning world champion and Balboa, and Balboa wins. The champion's management says 'let's do this for real, for charity'.

"Rocky says 'no' but decides to be true to himself even though he's going to be berated by everyone. Just to compete, not to win."

"Rocky Balboa is about everybody who feels they want to participate in the race of life, rather than be a bystander. You're never too old to climb a mountain, if that's your desire."

I know someone who has read the script. eek

I'm informed that during the fight finale, just as Rocky is about to be beaten, just as he seems to be at the point of no return, just at that edge-of-the-seat-will-he-wont-he-win moment, he gets attacked by snakes.

Didn't he already help bridge the gap between Americans and Russians?

I don't understand what he has left to do--bridge the gap between Baby Boomers and Generation Y ?

falloff

Hmmm, the film being released by Christmas seems reminicent of Rocky IV...which was my second fav. Rocky film....

I love Sly and all, I really really do, but is he going to keep making Rocky films until every last character is dead? with Rocky dying in the 15th installment at a rest home for elderly boxers?

I just am so against this Adrienne "absence" thing...I mean c'mon why couldn't she had been old along with him, still trying to get his ass out the ring...I really thought the 6th one was going to be about his son boxing, then something happens, and Rocky has to end up fighting in the ring with Mr. T training him then in the 7th Rocky film, Mr. T would die in an auto accident and Rocky would have to have Pauly as his official trainer...but oh well rolleyes

I see that Sly's sexiness has worn off, he should have gotten a hair cut...cuz he was sexy az hell in the 4th one...but then again that was like over 20 years ago (damn it's been that long)

Shit ya'll got me wanting to bust out Rocky III and IV tonight!!!
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Wow, yet another rocky.

Rocky II is actually quite a depressing film, whilst rocky III was just rubbish and rocky IV was so naff in its patriotism I bet russia had the film banned.

I never get the hate on rocky V? I just woulda preferred that rocky would of died in that one, as stallone actually wrote for him to die during the street fight in the finale. But the film comany said no for whatever reason.

I hope not. Rocky films are all about how his career continues over time. He needs a big death with a emotional funeral so u could like at each of his films as chapters in his career so to speak.

"eye of the tiger" always sonds better in the actual movies. U know, its often used when rocky is training or fighting. And u get those bells and sound effects and crowd cheering etc... record falls pretty flat.
