Music of course.

But for me television. I would record my favorite shows and watch them all week until the new one aired. Talk about someone being excited that it was Thursday. Back then Thurs.=good television. All the goodies used to come on The Simpsons, The Cosby Show, and A Different World. A Different World was and still is my ALL TIME favorite TV show. And yes, I do own the DVD's. Oh, and I know the Wedding episode by hard. Dawayne and Whitley 4 eva. lol

Daydreaming. The main reason why I was such a mediorce student. I still daydream on the job, on the bus...

Looking out windows. I used to do this alot when I was little. Lump that in with daydreaming

Music, definitely, and my imagination. One fed the other.

Also my dogs and my friends. But I'd say music was the great comforter.

Just books, really. Second to sleeping I'd say that most of my life has been spent reading.
This one's for you.

Mara

When I was a little kid, I used to be semi-infatuated with theme parks and rollercoasters. Me and my brother were basically rollercoaster enthusiasts. We'd go to Six Flags Magic Mountain, Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm like 3-4 times a year (each!). We lived about 45 mins. from Disneyland & Knott's by car and Magic Mountain was about an hour away.

I remember drawing blueprints of rollercoasters I designed in my mind. Also, I used to make my own "Park Maps" with white paper, markers and colored pencils. I'd draw an actual spec map of a theme park I created and wrote the ride descriptions and height requirements for all the attractions as well as creating annual ticket stubs and park passes.

For a long time, I dreamt of being a rollercoaster/theme park creator/designer.

mine wasnt cartoons or anything else...

it was Music, as a child i would listen to music constantly and it would take me places, and make me happy regardless of the harsh relaity of my surroundings as a small child, it helped me go away from everything and take me to a place that i created in my own mind and that place becomes so real to you, that you can actually see it and touch it.

I feel ya on that, music was my escape too.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

books. i could read a book and be totally engrossed in it, and lose myself to the rest of the world. my mom would sometimes have to actually shake me to get my attention.

and a tree in our back yard. i would climb that to get away. my mom didn't climb trees and my sister was afraid of heights at first, so the top of my tree was my special place. i have many fond memories of sitting up there just watching the horizon of the rest of the town. cloud9 the new owners cut my tree down. cry i actually cried when i first found that out.

omg hug Aww, how awful! Those meanies!
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Drawing my own cartoons
Music
Watching TV
Reading Comic Books

All that was a welcome relief from the a$$holes I had to deal with in my childhood. I realized at an early age, the less people I had to deal with, the happier I was. That's the main reason I became a commercial arist.
