Music ... I'd listen to music so much that I now have hearing loss from blaring my headphones for years on end, those things were always on my head...me and my bright yellow walkman were one being.

And Books....my true love...I'd read anything and love it... the thing that sucks so much about getting older is now i don't have the attention span I once did and I find it really hard to clear my mind and sit down and read. sad

Movies....oh God....If books are my first love then movies are my all time greatest fuck. I don't are what crap it is I'll watch it... drool

OMG...LOL!!...When I first glanced at your post, I thought you were giving a list of things you did when younger to "escape"...the first three things along the lefthand border were:

Music...
head...
And books...

I didn't make friends easily and got a bit of stick in school because I had a big head of blonde hair, wore glasses and was a bit of a smartarse. I just shyed away from all social circles from the ages of 12 and 16, sitting in my bedroom shooting out short stories on my grandpa's old typewriter and running downstairs to show my mum and dad when I finished yet another tale of lower dimentional beings vomiting spacetime or vampire Nazis. They were worried, but my English teachers kept telling them at Parents Nights to encourage me, and they did. I love my parents, they're the coolest people I've ever met. If I had a son like me I'd be throwing him outside and locking the bloody door. I just couldn;t wait to get home from school to get back to deciding the fates of the people on my pages. smile

That's pretty much what my parents did. lol We weren't allowed to watch much TV at all, and I didn't really even want to.

Or did you mean you'd throw yourself out because you were so odd? hmm lol

And as for you being a smartarse, well..... I can't help you there. razz

I needed whatever sun we got in Scotland. Vitamin D is fought over in the streets here. My face reflected more light than the moon.

Does photoshop concrete your creative cracks these days?

Unfortunately Photoshop is something that is little more than a tool of amusement for me.
The vast majority of my photoshops are for jokes and stuff. This is becuase I find visual jokes as funny as auditory ones. I also am extremely hit-or-miss in humor, and for some reason, I'm more comfortable being hit-or-miss visually. shrug

I havent' painted anything in well over a year, and I haven't finished that painting. shrug

Well, I think you're a bit of a genius. And you're the first orger I've said that to. I know you know know yourself and sometimes compliments can cut rather than caress becaus eof insecurity and conceit, but seriously, I laugh my arse of at all your shit.

For me, it was:

Bike riding...used to get up at 5:00 am and be out the door by 5:30, riding in the middle of empty suburban streets, feeling completely alone and free..

Hiking in the woods...well, the wooded area near my home...I'd spend hours out there just exploring...

Reading...would lock myself away in my room and read book after book...got hooked on Ray Bradbury that way...

And Warner Bros. cartoons...I don't just mean watching them, but studying them almost...I watched the timing and delivery of Bugs Bunny's lines, and tried to mimic them...not necessarily word for word, but mimic the delivery style...I actually developed my sense of humor by studying Bugs Bunny and Hawkeye Pierce from M.A.S.H. for hours and hours...couldn't get enough of either when I was a kid.

I was quite an active and romantic child. I loved to read when I was young. Much more avidly then now which I'm trying to revive. I was also very keen on sports and went to football, judo and gymnastics weekly. Some days I was playing football up to 4 or 5 nights a week.

I fell deeply for Lestat. The eighth wonder of this world is that I'm not a homosexual.

it was Music, as a child i would listen to music constantly and it would take me places, and make me happy regardless of the harsh relaity of my surroundings as a small child, it helped me go away from everything and take me to a place that i created in my own mind and that place becomes so real to you, that you can actually see it and touch it.
