Then, when she's done, out of the clear blue sky, spring these babies on her! She'd FAINT! Well, I couldn't buy them without her there...I'd have to make sure they fit...lol ...But yeah, I did think about buying her a pair in the future. ...I hadn't thought about the situation behind when I'd do so...might be spur of the moment or might be as a result of something she does on her own without my first suggesting it. The great thing about her is that she never really feels entitled to anything, and she will easily and willingly "work" for certain things when it's required of her (either thru babysitting or thru extra duties around the house)...it doesn't keep her from asking, of course..lol ...But when either her mother or I say "no", she doesn't act resentful or depressed or get moody..her reaction is more like "Eh, didn't hurt to ask"...lol

When she was like 2 years old, if she saw something she wanted at the store her mother and I would say "Not today, sweetie...maybe some other day.."...after awhile when she'd ask for some new toy or doll, when we'd say no, she'd chime in-- with a completely 100% sincere tone in her voice--and say "maybe some other day, daddy?"...I'd just smile and say "Yeah, sweetheart, maybe some other day" and give her a kiss...then she'd be fine and we'd never hear about most of those toys again...lol *smile*...

Did you know that is rapper Common's favorite episode of Cosby Show? I didn't think anyone would get it. Byron sounded just like Bill Cosby with the Christina Aguilera/Michael Jackson comment.

That's the thing though - I have a pair that's pretty practical already but I want a darker pair, hence the Prada's. I was SHOCKED that they looked good on me I usually can't do something so square but they work The Jones pair would just be extra for when I want a change, the semi-cat eye is just too cute & they're only $62 online I love glasses I never, ever, ever skimp on a pair of glasses. $350 is about standard. If something is going to sit on my face 16 hours a day, it's worth every penny to get a good pair. I wear that pair for years, but I'm having a hard time affording the next one.

When i was 13 Cross Color jeanz on girls was all the go and i had two pairz purple and maroon!! They were $80 each and i can't believe i convinced my poor mum to buy them for me I should have kept them for iconic reasons (one day i'm sure they maybe worth something i dunno) ...they were so heavy and you had to buy em from the men's department i remember!! But it was nice to have something that was cool at that age though and you're daughter will always remember the first time they got a very cool pair of jeans (for them at the time)...and one day when she decides to give them away one day, you'll remind her of how bad she wanted em! No hablo espanol,no!
Pero hablo ingles..ssii muy muy bien... "Come into my world..." Missy Quote of da Month: "yeah, sure, that's cool...wait WHAT?! "

I remember Cross Color... ...I think... See, that's the thing - she wants them SOOOOO bad now but in a year she wouldn't be caught dead in them (not to mention she'd grow out of them quickly!) I think you're on the right track - something that expensive should be paid for by one's self (or earned somehow). We all gotta learn to avoid the trendy & pay a grip for things we'll wear forever - we usually don't get that until we're all growns up.

Lammastide said: I have been eyeing this pair of Prada frames for about 9 months...
They're understated, but they're kind of quirky when worn (shades of Stanley Tucci in The Devil Wears Prada ) ...and they look cool on me, which is rare. They've been discontinued in the United States, and the only pair I've seen in Canada is like $275 -- even before the prescription lenses! I know the price is insane, but I've been a good boy, I've responsibly save up some dough, and I think I might treat myself to this pleasure in the next couple weeks or so. Oh my GAWD, I love those. And, ok, $275 isn't crazy for frames! At least where I live, unique, well-made frames cost $300-500 pretty regularly. In fact, I just dropped a ton of money on glasses. I have really bad vision and my lenses alone cost almost $300. And yeah, the frames were almost $400. So, with taxes, I'm spending over $700. On glasses. But they're BEAUTIFUL. And since they're on my face every damn day, I don't feel too bad about it. oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!
