Communication is easily realized when the two realize that they are biased toward their own communication skills and that in the end they are really only communicating with themself.

Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.

Or maybe I should've posted that in your "Time Machine" thread.

Here are a few of my favorite Oscar Wilde quotes,

People never change, they go around and around within the confines of their personality (I believe this is from Reading Goal)

Only the shallow know themselves.

To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance.

To get back one's youth one has merely to repeat one's follies.

We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.

I can resist everything except temptation. (this quote was also attributed to Whistler)

Divorces are made in heaven.

Only dull people are brilliant at breakfast.

The only thing to do with good advice is to pass it on. It is never any use to oneself.

Truth is good, but not all truth is good to say. ~~African Proverb

You're either part of the solution or part of the problem. ~~Eldridge Cleaver

Be patient towards all that is unsolved in your heart...
try to love the questions themselves...
do not seek the answers which cannot be given you...
live the questions now. ~~Rainer Maria Rilke

Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission. ~~Eleanor Roosevelt

Don't be a hard rock when you really are a gem... ~~Lauryn Hill

Reputation is an idle and most false imposition,
oft got without merit and lost without deserving. ~~Shakespeare (Othello)

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. ~~Helen Keller

And just for good measure--my favorite Oscar Wilde quote:
Now art should never try to be popular.
The public should try to make itself more artistic. biggrin
"Your presence and dry wit are appealing in a mysterious way."

I have all his plays, biographies, he even wrote a children's book. Best of all I have his "Epigrams" book. I found it in a used book store and has nothing but quotes. It's a tiny purple book that's really unusual.

From "The Joy Of Negative Thinking" by Donald Smith;

If someone doesn't deserve the truth, tell tell him a lie. (It's against my ethics, but I've been in the situation)

Never underestimate the simpleton. Stupid people are the most treacherous of all.

When someone has no right to make an accusation, you have every right to deny it, even when it's true.

Most of our problems can be solved by the simple measure of having someone stop doing something.

No one has ever been disappointed by someone whom he didn't trust in the first place.

Those who owe us money can be very difficult to contact. The best way to communicate with them is by having a pack of angry dogs run them up a tree.

Please don't tell me about the brotherhood of man. I know several people whom I wouldn't accept as distant cousins.
