If you can (I think you are visiting from the US?) try filling electronically using the Self-assesment online service. Very easy to use and you can make "adjustments" to ensure the figures are in your favour before submitting!!!
If you request a cheque it normally only takes 7 days and they just print those babies off in a batch run it seems with no manual intervention (obviously if they decide to check and you get caught out.....) I haven't completed a paper form ever

I haven't completed a paper form ever thanks... I'm actually from Australia on a working holidaymaker visa and really am not sure of myself enough to do it that way I think. there are agencies I can go through for a commission of my return but I think I'd rather be safe than sorry thank you for the info

I get taxed 40% of my salary, then 9% for National Insurance, over 80% on petrol and 17.5% VAT on certain goods (most). I'm going to stop payinf tax, bend over, grease up my button and let Gordon Brown have his way on my arse, fuck, he, Tony and John can run a train on me. It will hurt less than paying taxes Wer ist dort? Unterbrechende Kuh. Unterbrech... Muh!!!

I dont think they give rebates anymore.
I just think you become exempt from paying them until everything has been squared up. thats what someone told me anyway. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
