Paris, France - Help Orgers Well, hello there.
I wonder if any of you Orgers will be able to assist me? In a few weeks' time, my housemate - Kath - is catching the Eurostar to Paris, en route to Bordeaux. She arrives at Gare du Nord, Paris, at 10.25am and needs to get across the city - to Montparnasse - by 11:30am. For all you of familiar with the Paris Metro, will an hour be enough time for her to get across the city? She thinks it will be but wants to make sure. If she misses her connection, she's stuck there. Otherwise, would you recommend a taxi? Sorry, this is one of the daftest threads I've ever started - and there have been a few - but I'm sure one of you lovelies will be able to come up with an answer. Thanks in advance...

tell her I said Hi You told me you're French???! Thanks, hun. According to Kath - and I have no idea whether this is true or not - Paris is only 6 miles across so she reckons she should be able to do it. I say go for a taxi, if you're not sure. And I'll say 'Hi' from you. And Kath says Thank You to the Org.

More than enough. Avoid Taxis. On Gare du NOrd, she has to take metro line 4 (direction : Porte d'Orléans - pink line) until Montparnasse. Orgnote me if she needs help/phone number.

Letsseee I was just there and went from Paris to London... An hour will be enough time to get across the city...Paris is not THAT big. The Metro is fast fast fast. Gare Du Nord's metro station has many of the lines going by it...perhaps even the one your friend needs. Gare du nord is sorta (sorta) in the middle of paris...so it should be an easy ride. We had to go from Gare de L'est (near Gare du nord) and transfer a train and we made it to La Defense (the north west of the edge of the city) within 40 min. SHe will need to hoof it off the train and to the metro station but She can make it. I don't recommend a taxi they don't always take you to where you need to go and they cost a lot. Paris rocks! Just don't go in August. I was there from July 17th till July 29th. Was great, then Madrid, which was better.

Hi Virginie, THANK you ever so much - I've texted her the details and I know she'll really appreciate it. This is why this place is so great! Cheers!

Thank you very much. I appreciate your help. I've used the Metro before and it is very efficient. And I'll warn Katha bout the taxis. Cheers!

Thanks, mate. You're very lucky - two beautiful cities in one year. I loved both when I visited. Re-reading the original thread, I'm not sure why I said 'a few weeks' - she's going today. Mr Organised. Exactly why you've all been a big help. Thanks everyone.
