Listen to the tA response, those pics are perfect. Tuning drums is a challenge but think everything is relative to the snare and kick. As far as the pillow in the kick, it's a matter of taste. I use Aquarian heads and my kit sounds great without blankets or pillows. Remember it's a bass note, not a muffled note but again, it's subjective.

After all this, buy some books, rent some videos and educate yourself. Unless you are, in fact, mentally challenged, then have the person that takes care of you buy the books and rent the videos.
