I told my players when I got back from vacation that I would shave my head for hell week, but I'm having second thoughts. Its gonna be hotter than hell like in the 100's the whole week. But I also start teaching this week. I've never shaved my head and I'm afraid of what it would look like. So I'm taking a poll, bick it or keep it!

I think there's the potential danger of looking like a convict if you shave your head. You appear to have a lovely head of hair so why spoil it?

You're face would actually work very well with a shag do.

Go to a Salon (don't go to a regular barber--go to an actual full service salon) and talk to a stylist. He/She may recommend (Based on what I see in your pictures) that your hair be thinned a bit, definately texturized with a razor, and perhaps highlited just slightly to breakup and add more texture to your hair.

You'd be able to rock a pixie cut or shag prety easily. And a shoe-shine didn't kill any man.

I have awesome hair. However I choose to shave my hair off. It's clean and cool and easy to maintain. I shave my head bald quite regular the last few summers. I've got that thick hair. I'll tell you, I sleep better at night and I don't overheat half as much as when I've got the full head of hair going on. However, I do look more like a freak.
