this morning as i was comming up our driveway ( very steep and sorta long )

a young hawk flew out from a tree in front of me and then landed on the side of the drive ...

so i stopped and admired him until he moved... he flew up onto a fence post so i drove up some more...stopped and watched him some more until he flew away into a nearby tree

they are such powerful creatures, even the young ones with a touch of downy feather still sticking out of their new adult feathers ...

now most know that i respect / study animal medicine ... it is part of my shamanic training

Hawks have incredible wisdom that is natural for them we take these birds for granted.i believe hawks have ability to see your higher true self.

The Bald Eagles on the other hand always seem drawn to me, or me to them. I see a baldie almost every day.

Beautiful!! We have an angry old crow who comes into our backyard when he/she smells our barbecue. We've got a little makeshift birdbath/feeder and the bird lets us get near it and even touch it sometimes. It'll just sit there and watch us. When we're inside, we always know when it's out there because it'll SQUAAK until we put food out there for it.

They are! My dad's so cute. He's a truck driver and starts his shift early in his terminal to organize freight before it's loaded; for years now, he has this crow HANGING OUT with him at work in the morning, before anyone gets there, and it even rides on the top of his loud, rickety forklift! He feeds it as well...they go through a loaf of bread in just one morning. It's like they're friends or something. My dad's learned all he can about crows and talks to me about the little guy/gal every time he gets a chance. I bet he's secretly named it.

My dad was a truck driver too and would have done the same thing with the crow...it was just in his personality to do so. There was a little sparrow that kept trying to build a nest in one of the awnings of our house and there wasn't enough room so the materials kept falling out...so my dad built a little shelf in there and the little sparrow built its nest and had babies there for several years and this was the awning of one of the doors to the house!

Some of my favorite cheesiest random memories are the ones growing up, when my dad and I would gently pluck the snails from our street in the evening and place them further along in the direction they were heading so they didn't get crushed by the morning traffic. He'd always use that time to give me a pep talk about something. It was quite nerdy, but oh well.
