When I got told off by Mum and Dad when I was little, I used to say Im going to run away and never return. I didn't get too far though - I used to walk around the block for about 20 minutes and then come back home sulking.

That said, it's not just a thing kids do - the urge to just run is built into all of us. Tell us about the times you've given in and run.

I ran away with my best friend when I was like 7 or so, got as far as the toll booth of the next subway stop over We telephoned from there and got picked up by her parents, who were very unhappy with us. I got all the blame too, cos I was one year older than her and "should know better"

When I was little I would get scared if we went for a walk and got far enough away that we couldn't see the house cause I thought we'd get lost.
