Your favorite non-human movie star

My pick would be Wilson the Volleyball from "Cast Away".

No other piece of sports equipment could have so exquisitely evoked the emotion and inspiration as did the staid, empathetic Wilson. A ping-pong ball? No, much too wimpy - not enough depth, not enough strength. A medicine ball, or bowling ball? Absurd! Both too macho, too overbearing - utterly incapable of conveying the sensitivity required to for this role. Robert Zemeckis clearly made the correct decision in casting a volleyball to give life to the character of Wilson.

A close second for me is that one penguin from "March of the Penguins".

S/he was amazing. While onscreen, I was aware of no other penguins but she/he and I truly believed her/his touching performance would catapult her/him to fame and the Hollywood A-list...but alas, stardom has eluded her/him. A shame, really, as we are so sorely in need of other than just pretty faces in today's movies, yet the promising, unconventional types with substance so often go overlooked. Why, as you read this now, s/he is likely somewhere out there working an unfulfilling job in retail to pay the bills while, day by day, bit by bit, her/his creative soul slowly dies. sad

Higgins, here with his good friend Frank Inn, blew me away with his acting abilities in "Benji".

Great minds, madam. biggrin

We should consider founding a Wilson the Volleyball fanclub. Pump up his deflated career, as it were.

Great choices, people. Thanks everyone who took a moment to share their favorite(s).

Though I am surprised none of the following were mentioned:
Herbie the Love Bug
the shark from "Jaws"
R2D2
Jabba the Hut
Roger Rabbit
Jessica Rabbit
Shrek
Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy or any of the other Muppets
The Blob
Spongbob Squarepants
Godzilla
