A couple of months ago I posted a thread about me going to participate in a rally off to Mongolia (www.mongolrally.com). Due to several reasons in the end I could not participate..... My friends however did, and started last weekend in Hyde Park, London their long trip to Mongolia in a real crap car!

Follow their ordeal, support them on their site (www.hijetset.com), donate for charity, post on the blog!!!!!

They are making an ass of me for not being there with them, but they're my heroes!!!!!

so.....the guys have crossed the Polish-Lithuanian border today after spending the night at some deserted cornfield somewhere in Poland, hearing something like boar-noises..... They expect to reach the second check-point, Moscow, this weekend. That is, if the car makes it.....it slurps the oil like I like beer, the clutch is slipping all the time.....how I wish to be with them right now!

Meanwhile, I got a text message saying that Thom (the second from left on the pic) has shit his pants twice already because of Tijs' (the dude with the shades) driving-style..... Also, they are about the slowest of the 200 that started in London on Saturday.....the car hardly goes faster than 90 km/h.....meaning they are really on their own!

haven't heard from the guys for a couple of days now.....

3 1/2 weeks on the road, taking the northern route, through Siberia, via Lake Baikal, the guys have made it to the Mongol-border!!! They should finish tomorrow in the Mongol capital, Ulaan Bataar!!!!
