I just got back from my American Idol audition in L.A.

Let me first advise anyone who is planning to audition to register on the first day of registration (2 days before actual audtion). If you don't you most likely will not be going to the next round. What I did not know what that there are 2 rounds before you get to see Randy, Paula, and Simon and it is not all on the same day. Callbacks for L.A. are not until September 23rd

They said the auditions would start at 8:00am. I got there a 6:00am and was literally in the last group to audition at 7:15pm. No one in the last group got through, no matter how good they were. I admit was tired and drained (from sitting outside all day) and let my nerves get the best of me. I can't complain I didn't make it, but they were letting awful singers dressed up in costumes through the next round just so they could be on t.v. It's bullshit. They told people they were too fat or sang too strong, etc. It's t.v. bullshit. Some of the preliminary judges wouldn't look at the contestants while they sang. The judge at my table hinted that no one would be going through when she said "the early bird catches worm"

I met some interesting people. It was so cool to see people of all walks of life at the same place for a common goal.

Acrually, I wore some studded jeans and a red top, shorta like a tank top, but with a little design on it. They really didn't care where I was from or what I was a member of lol

How awesome that you went to try out! biggrin I'm sorry you didn't make it and got assed out for some stupid fool in a costume. That show doesn't let the best of the best to the show anyway.

Thanks! hug I might up to the Seattle auditions next month since I am at the age limit and will not be able to try again next year. Depends on how I feel. The experience rubbed me the wrong way. Some people were in tears

Well, I honestly thought that everyone got to audition for Simon, Paula, and Randy. I realize now that people need to be pre-auditioned. Someone else, who auditioned for the second season, told me there is a certain number set aside for how many crazy people they let through. Those people go straight to Paula, Simon, and Randy. They don't have to go through several rounds

Someone should act crazy just to get through and then blow the judges away. The problem is the judges may not take you seriously because of the way you look. Simon dimissed a guy last year dressed as the statue of liberty. He literally sang one note (sounded good) and Simon was like "That's it. Bye bye. You're out of here"

Yeah, sadly I think this is how it is for all tv shows... they're looking for the crazy folks... that's what gets the ratings.

Anyway, good for u for trying out! thumbs up!

Oh no, I got to eat. We were able to leave and come back. I didn't get to eat when I auditioned for Popstars 2. I almost fainted.
