ISO - A BOOK TITLE

This has been driving me up the wall for a week now! mad

I saw a book a couple of weeks ago and when I went back to buy it....it was gone! I can't remember the title exactly or the authors name. neutral
But I do remember something about what it was about. confused

The book was set in present day, but the Roman Empirer was still going. So it was about the Empirer and people in it.
I think it was called "The Last Roman" or "The Last Empirer" or something like that. Plus I think the author's name was Sarah and it was a newish book. Just out this year.

I'm never going to find this book again!!!!! fit

Anything else? Characters? Plot? What store you were in? Anything? And are you sure it was a recent publication?

With the information provided I could find no book which matched exactly, though the following two novels are very close in plot to what you've described. Perhaps one might possibly be the book you are trying to locate.

"The Centurion's Empire" - by Sean McMullen
http://www.amazon.com/gp/...e&n=283155 This was published back in 1998, so likely not the novel you are seeking.

"Romanitas" - by Sophia McDougall
http://www.amazon.com/gp/...aldcity0d0
Published 2005

well the reviews are terrible...good thing you didn't buy it.
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.
