I remember Aerogram did this thread awhile back. Let’s see…

1) My dad was 60 years old when I was born. He was ½ Irish/ ¼ African American/ ¼ Cherokee, but was often mistaken as white (he had straight hair, a very light complexion and blue-grey eyes). My neighbors -- mostly Eastern European Orthodox Jews -- often thought he was one of them… until they saw him with the rest of the family.

2) My first crush was the late Teresa Graves from the ‘70s TV show Get Christy Love. My longest-running crush is Maria from Sesame Street. (I thought Bob was kinda hot, too, though. )

3) I manage with Bipolar II disorder, and I once spent a week in a psychiatric ward for depression/planning a suicide. My roomie was a schizophrenic crack addict, who would tell me when he had auditory hallucinations. He was one of the nicest, most interesting people I’ve ever met… but I was scared as hell to go to sleep. (I guess I didn’t want to die that much.)

4) My two front teeth are crowns. I knocked out my real teeth at age 13 in a bike accident.

5) I HATE ketchup worse than war, famine, pestilence, etc… I can’t stand tasting it, smelling it OR touching it. I won’t eat anything it touches, nor will I kiss a person who’s recently eaten it.

6) I cannot tolerate sounds of digestion: I hate hearing a person chew and/or swallow their food, I hate the sound of others’ stomachs churning and I certainly hate flatulence. If I eat with people, there must be background noise, or I will likely excuse myself.

7) Blood in certain settings makes me light-headed. I could watch horror movies or real-life surgeries all day, but for some reason a very bloody accident or blood in vials or bags, like at a hospital, males me feel faint.

8) At the behest of one somewhat shady department chairperson, I acted as instructor for an undergrad-level college course while yet a mere sophmore in undergrad. No one above the department level ever found out about this… or there would have been hell to pay. And I’m surprised none of the students complained.

9) I’ve fought insomnia since childhood. I used to think that the entire planet slept at the same time, and that I was the only person on earth who was still awake. It felt horrible.

I can’t think of a 10th, but I think these are incriminating enough.
