omg that is so incredibly sad, that such things still take place in our day and age. it makes you realise how frightening and hostile the world can still be. and most importantly how awfully ignorant 8. My Mom finds me hilariously funny, and I am unsure why! i think i have somewhat the same 'problem' with my mom. if i give her a dvd and say "watch this, i thought it was really good" and it's a realy serious subject/film she will come back to me on it and laugh about it, saying it was such a funny movie. same thing whenever she mistakingly finds a piece of my writing, it's a kick in the gut when she says "i read this poem you had lying on top of your wardrobe (lol) and you're such a good writer, it was so funny (!!) you should be a comedy writer. the poem in question is usually something about kinda being date raped, wanting to drown myself etc etc. ok, they are abstract but still, they're NOT FUNNY MOM when i dress sharp to go out and think i look like a million bucks, my mom always acts like i'm some stupid cartoon figure and always calls me by that name (!) and it makes me feel like i'm dressed up as a clown. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

To IstenSzek: I have no idea of your day and age, however the Ku Klux Klan incident took place in the 1950's...such things do not happen anymore to my knowledge.
Fortunately, my Mom does not make fun of me, she finds me funny - there is quite a difference! You sound perfectly charming, so keep on being yourself even when/if your mom makes fun of you. To applekisses: My boss encouraged me to join Mensa International, however I rarely go to the functions because the only thing I seem to have in common with any of the other members is IQ. I neither dwell on my IQ, nor do I believe it is anything with which gauge success - professionally or personally. So I really do not take it as seriously as most of the members in my city. The newsletters are worthwhile and some of the functions interesting. A lot of people use it as a means for networking for a job. Hopefully you will find that helpful in making your decision on whether or not to join. "Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive."

kidelrich said: #5 I had a bad car accident one of my first times on a highway. #9 Yes, organized. Ok, fascinating. I detest organised religion too - I believe it creates conflict and encourages elitism and exclusivism. I am an agnostic, but one thing is for sure - if I'm ever convinced into believing I'll worship and live my own way. That doesn't mean I'd ignore the Bible, or whatever I follow, but I wouldn't go to services - I would follow the moral guidelines and perhaps pray, but otherwise I'd live normally - it's hard to explain with me, but I guess you get the jist.
