Potato is such a diverse food, You Can Fry It, bake it, sautee it, eat it raw, have it double stuffed, augratin, so simple and economical, yet so diverse. Carpenters bend wood, fletchers bend arrows, wise men fashion themselves.

love it! and I'm fine thanks gorgeous ~subliminal thoughts - Alun must join myspace~ ~ subliminal thoughts messing with Alun's head. Gets up out of seat, walks from office and buys laptop ~ Ooh, I feel funny, What came over me there?? Where was I again? My, you certainly do like potato! A very useful vegetable. Mashed or roasted are my favourites. But I can have those with my Sunday Lunch so I get the best of both worlds. I'm not making this up: years ago - before he was married - whenever we'd go away for the weekend, one of my mates would always take two 'essential' items... toliet roll (I think he was scared of getting caught short) and a potato. You'd be unpacking your bag and then he'd fish this potato out of his bag. I think he thought that - if he ever got hungry - there was always something to hand. Personally, I'd take a packet of crisps but there you go...

Indian food, definitely.
Though I have a good relationship with Meditteranean food too - falafel, dolmas, baba ganouj, hummous, etc. Good Indian food just makes me melt, though.

Yeah when I was growing up our neighbors were from India and they made thee best food. I've never actually eaten in an Indian restaurant though. I'm sure it wouldn't be as good would it? Or WOULD it? I really miss her food, but I don't know what anything was called.

i can make some simple curries from scratch and there are some i can make with the help of some pre-made simmer sauces, but nothing beats a good indian buffet. the trick is to go to an indian part of town...in NYC we had curry row in the east village, and in chicago we have devon street where there are tons of indian restaurants. the big fave in chicago now is a place called hema's, which is a little pricey but they make everything fresh and grind their own spices and all that jazz. AMAZING indian food.

Ahhh, I have to get those!!! where do you live? actually, my "regular" supermarket down the block has been trying to compete with trader joes recently by stocking more "ethnic" foods and organic/healthy stuff. they even have a whole indian foods section now, which is a bit pricier than TJs (and not as good) but does the trick in a pinch.
