Which part? Many our starters going down with injuries right after the trading deadline? Yeah, that's fun... How about our starting pitchers suddenly going down the toilet? Yeah, that's fun too...
But I'm still thinking there's a secret plan to get behind you in the standings, so we can claim Roger Clemens off waivers when they finally all agree that they want to do that.

Yeah, at least - that pretty much sucks...

And for the record, it was actually kind of sad to see Matsui go down like he did - much as I hate that we have to face him so much, he's a great player, and I only have respect for him. I'm not of the opinion that I have to hate players just because they're Yankees.

I meant losing first place late in the season. You're a good sport booyah, you know I'm not malicious with my smack. Dude, trust me, I know how bad injuries suck!!!

And FUCK Roger. That's what he gets for going to Houston. He knew damn well they had no chance at winning, and that bullpen of theirs is a fucking arson crew.
If he cared so much about winning, he would have signed with the Yanks or the Sox, so he's getting what he deserves mister "show up to the park only on the days I pitch"

You are in the minority. When Pedro Martinez came back to Fenway for the first time this year, he was cheered. When Johnny Damon came back, he was booed.

You are in the minority. When Pedro Martinez came back to Fenway for the first time this year, he was cheered. When Johnny Damon came back, he was booed. Well, the Damon thing I have mixed feelings about - when he was with the Sox, he went out his way on an almost daily basis as 'the voice of the team' to say how he was a Red Sox through and through, how everyone on the team loved him, how much he loved the freedom the Sox displayed by letting people grow their hair etc., and how he wanted to play in Boston his whole life. The he becomes a Yankee for a few million dollars more, and what happens? He talks to the press and on TV on an almost daily basis to say how he's a Yankee through and through, how everyone on the team loves him, how much he loved the professionalism that the Yankees display by allowing no long hair etc., and how he wants to play in New York his whole life after the Red Sox disrespected him by offering him only $10 million a year. It's a major two-face issue that led many fans to boo him when he returned - his new Yankee attitude undermined everything he said while he was here, basically showing him up to be a fraud both then and now. Still, fortunately the fans realized it was also classless to boo him after everything he did for the team, so other returning players, like Pedro, have been given the classy return they deserve. I thought that was especially nice to see with Pedro, given that he didn't leave Boston on the best terms either.

She'll still be in second place though.

How about the Sox' penchant for walk-off wins, though? I don't think any other team wins in such an exciting, dramatic fashion as the Sox. 3 of the last 5 games we've been behind at the bottom of the ninth, to come back and win it all (twice behind the bat of David Ortiz, and last night behind the bat of Mark Loretta).

The Red Sox have played two more games than the Yankees, due to scheduling - the Yankees have 63 wins and 41 losses (a .606 winning "percentage" - don't get me started on why it's called a percentage), while the Sox have 64 wins and 42 losses (a .604 winning "percentage"), so we're a few points behind the Yankees, although close enough that in most places they don't write it as being a half-game behind, again because we've played more than them. Who's that in your avvie, by the way?

They are using all their walk-offs now...so they won't have any left for the playoffs! "Always blessings, never losses......"

looks like they're already starting to I would never have guessed the Bosox would lose four in a row to the Devil Rays and Royals--the two worst teams in the AL. What's up with that???
