Ok, so I've asked two girls (non-orgers) about this already.

What kind of age difference is ok to you and when does it become gross?

I am 27 and there is a girl at my local store who must be about 18, maybe 19 and I can sense a vibe between us.

One girl I know says she's too young for me.

Another says it's not a big deal at all and comes down the maturity of the two people and that 40 and 18 would be gross, not 27 and 18.

Personally, I guess my immediate thought was "too young", but there was SOMETHING there which made me think twice about it when I ordered my baguette the other day, so I don't know!



I know I am possibly risking my already questionable profile on here by starting this thread, but I am curious as to what is taboo with you all concerning this.

I think 27 and 18 is ok in the right circumstances. In Thailand I see all kind of age mismatches which are sometimes a little sickening, so this is nothing.

Personally, at 25, if I were single and looking I would go for a girl aged 20-28, but wouldn't discount an 18 year old over her age. Certainly wouldn't go younger than that though.

when I was 18, 27 would have been SOOOOO old!
I was still a virgin at 18 not even been kissed yet!!

i'm tending to side with the "too young" crowd, but damn if she's not gorgeous and nice to me. i hate that.

I don't usually care about age differences, I do belive that who you can have a good relationship with has more to do with sharing life experiences, then numbers... but 18 is so damn young! I can't help thinking she's still a baby in so many ways.

In general 9-10 years isn't all that bad BUT it depends on where people are in their lives. I think once you reach the age of 25 the age thing kinda goes out the window, but those under 25 still have so much to learn/experience/get over. An 18 year old will probably be fun for a while but ultimately still a child in a lot of ways. And personally, I find it kinda creepy when guys argue that "she's legal!!" - so what, she's still super young...

I think the note is a safe option for all concerned and shouldn't alert the authorities.

Whenever I face this concern, I use what I like to call the half your age plus seven rule. example. I am 26. Half my age would be 13 I add 7 years to that and a 20 year old is the youngest girl I can date. This rule officially begins the day you turn 21 years of age. No ifs and or buts about it!
