Robin Williams seeks help for alcoholism LOS ANGELES - Robin Williams is seeking treatment for alcoholism, publicist Mara Buxbaum said Wednesday.
The 55-year-old comedian had been sober for 20 years, Buxbaum said. Williams "found himself drinking again and has decided to take proactive measures to deal with this for his own well-being and the well-being of his family," she said in a statement. "He looks forward to returning to work this fall to support his upcoming film releases." Buxbaum declined to elaborate beyond the statement. Williams stars in "Man of the Year," due in October, and voices an animated penguin in "Happy Feet," slated for release in November. His new film, "The Night Listener," is now in theaters. He won an Oscar for his supporting role in 1997's "Good Will Hunting."

He "found himself drinking again," makes it sound like he was sleepwalking.
Still, I wish him the best.

at least it's not cocaine again - he was scary when he was doing that. i saw a stand up comedy special on A&E where he was just FLYING on the stuff and it was like watching a car crash. it was WAY more disturbing than it was funny.

I wonder if his meds need to be adjusted? sometimes when the levels are off people will self medicate to keep the equilibrium, then the addition kicks in
( in this case again) and compounds the problem. We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color. Maya Angelou

i think i saw some of that. Robin has only made me laugh on occasion, but he's a master at creating tension, which gets on my damn nerves. Him and Jonathan Winters in the same room together was always hilarious.

I don't "get" Robin Williams...
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I wish him the best.
He's been a favorite entertainer of mine for a long time. I hate to see anyone relapse. I'm firmly planted in denial
