I really really hope you say yes because it looks so beautiful and graceful... in my experience ... yes like ours... the horses are part of the family and treated with great care and respect the whip isnt for whipping it's a touch cue tool and the spurs ...arnt for digging in they are for touch cue NOW i am sure, sadly that there are those that mistreat their horse partners just as some humans mistreat even other humans... thank you beautiful Goddess

they dont tie up their "man bits"...lol...and a bucking strap does not cause discomfort or pain...it is placed across the flank because it is a sensitive area and an effort to remove a foreign object from that area equals bucking...you'll notice that most bucking straps (on broncs anyhow) are fleece lined and padded even...once a bull or bronc learns to buck it is just a cue...they know when a bucking strap goes on its time to work...its like your dog knows the leash means its time for a walk...you'll notice that as soon as the cowboy comes off or the bucking strap is pulled by the pick up man they stop bucking...stock contractors (the guys that supply the bucking stock) go through LOADS of animals to find those that are predisposed to bucking...they LIKE to buck...they dont FORCE them to buck...

So I'm back from the Rodeo and I must say it was enjoyable there was only one part that bothered me and that was the calf roping. It just seemed as if they were choking the calfs, but all and all it was a good show and we even saw a horse run into the wall which was also kinda disturbing . I'm happy that I went just to experience it for the first time. Thanks 4 everyone's input .

rodeo is great... and the cowboys
glad you had a good time... i know it can be a bit odd if you don't know what's going on. the only animals they use in rodeo are the ones who have shown their love of bucking/roping/racing an animal that does not like it does not put on a good show and that's what we want to see! the bulls and bronc horses are famous, legendary... and worth $$$$$ you can better believe they are treated like kings as far as the calf roping... it is modeled after what really takes place on a ranch if a calf is sick or needs it's immunizations it needs to be caught. it's over in a matter of seconds... the calf ropers are very skilled at what they do and honestly... when the calf jumped up and ran away - did it look like it had been harmed? i grew up near the oldest continuous rodeo in the country... the first rodeos were displays of skill between the early ranchers and the native indians in the area

Your right they appeared to be fine upon jumping up. So I did have a good time. Thanks 4 sharing this emm .

thank you guys for sharing this info... it's good to know they don't go through pain that's a good point about it being kinda like a dog knowing when the leash comes out it's time for a walk.
thanks again | |

I went to a rodeo in Cody a few years ago. I'm telling you; that was a real old cowboy town with some real old cowboys in it. I mean 100% butt-scratching, tobacco-spitting, rough-skinned cowboys. It was pretty interesting since the only other rodeo I'd been to was in France.
