changing yourself...

serious question... those of you who have had something (whatever it may be) that you've successfully changed about yourself how have you done it?

Dedication and commitment to making myself in to what i want to be. It's vital to have a goal and aim for it..that drives you. It always takes longer than you think or want but it's so worth the effort.

five years ago i decided to give up sugared sodas, and i still do that.

18 years ago i decided to give up meat. still going strong!

man, seriously there were times where i felt like just punching my own clock and getting off this planet, and the thing is i felt like that every fucking day,i found that my strength to keep me from doing that was one day me the my creator had a long discussion about my life and how to change it. i immediately left where i was and the minute i stepped on that bus. i felt like all my demons were battled and gone.if you could look into my eyes you would see my life.

it's been pretty win/win for me, at least for the last couple decades or so. maybe tomorrow it'll all come crashing down and i'll run screaming for steak and pudenda. shrug

I don't know that I've ever been 'successful' at changing something about myself. I'm doing well right now with certain things, but it's looming over my head that that all could change too. I don't think it will. But it could.

I love you too, Nat. nod

Like JasmineFire says, it's an ongoing process. And there are still things I'm figuring out. But that's life, eh?

If you reached a point where you had it all figured out, well... where do you go from there?

If you need to talk, you know where I am. nod

That is the truth my friend .....it's always easier to help others to get better but when it comes to ones self it is real tough.
