Poetry...

share some of your poetry here rose I'll start...

"The Prophets Song" (this is one I wrote years ago now...)

The Prophets Song...

Anticipation on the breath of all that are here

excitement built up to a screaming conclusion

waiting for the happy hours with hope and expectation

finally time grinds to a halt as they emerge larger than life

memories come alive as our witness to this dream

with stars in our eyes we listen as heavens on fire

it has opened its gates to us as four prophets rock the world

leaving a legacy reminding us why we came

"This is the performance of a lifetime" I heard someone say

while I watched and heard every note in awe

wishing it would last forever

knowing a peice of everyone agreed

the last note played I took a breath

not realising I hadn't for some time

fast spiralling back to reality on a downward spin

walking on the air that was beneath everyone

I caught a glimpse and spoke a word in essence

A dream came true ; A wish was granted

as a souvineer I woke up with a drumstick in my hand

waiting for the next time the prophets sing their song

I'm glad to see a new post by you

because last time I see one you said you were through

and even know it's great to have you back

why did you say you were leaving, did you feel under some sort of lack?
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

those big dark clouds can be quite a shame

they can bright about doubt and tocherisous pain

if one stays objective the effort isn't in vain

for the dark cloud I've found is what we do to our brain.

written to an old friend of mine from back in the day.

You think you're so deserving,
You think you have it all,
But my love, they will start laughing and jeering,
when the final curtain falls,

Torturous fate, no environment made,
An effigy of a imago unrealized,
Torturous fate, or mechanical animal,
a newborn facade circumcised,

And don't say I didn't warn you my sweet,
for the poison of your mother's voice drags you still,
To the alter of your of unscrupulous farce,
And don't pretend you won't crumble , 'cause I know you will.

The butt of a joke,
A faint preceding the cracking of a skull,
And don't you go thinking that I will be fascinated by it all,
by your text book tragedy my sweet, depressing but dreadfully dull,

So bask in your glory before adoring fans,
for I know with that spine of yours like jelly,
when witch hunt comes for you,
I shall enjoy watching you slither on your fucking belly,

Procession(ode to the mind)

Incongrous Juxtaposition
these visions...
unjustly...
masking feelings..
time crosses(embedded this drying chest)
these are the final processions that have
limited the thought processes.

Procession-Version 2.Virtue.

Incongrous Juxtaposition
these visions that pangs-
ou a visceral wail.
that never seems to fail-
the capturing stance
unjustly..do we
mask the feelings of both love
and remorse
instead of amending and curing we somehow
make it worse.
time crosses over bones
i stare at you friend-this is not the end i hope
these are the final processions that i have limited
the thought processes..

end.

Untitled

Twenty suicidal tendencies a day,

Tired but yet old.

Bed-ridden, and animated only in sporadic, violent oscillation,

And looking every one of my years two-fold.

"The seventeenth 'last time' will be the easiest", I joked.

The doctor was not amused and his whole countenance frowned.

I croaked.

From lip to brow and back again, a wave of disapproval.

"What are we going to do with you?", he said.

"I don't know, but if you give me a cigarette I'll be your best friend."

He took his frown and rose from beside my bed.

I croaked again and drifted off to sleep, smiling foolishly to the end.

Balcony bound, to pace and to simmer,

To think complication into catastrophe,

Mistake into malice, solacer to sinner.

Maybe, just maybe, it was me?

Sincerely, Please Don't Die

I heard you calling out last night. Oh tell me, did you fall?

'Twas raining hard, and more besides, I was watching football.

Your family were not at home, and didn't rush to your aid?

Your boastful tongue has cost you that, as now their loyalty fades.

They never knew the man you are, but now the murmurs grow.

Blood is only so thick, and thus, in time you'll reap what was sown,

A bitter, vile crop that sheds your skin, laid bare to all.

Sincerely please don't die because I'd rather watch you fall.

THINE AND MINE

Glistening sharks are listening up
While you’re spreading butter on your asphalt cup
Pour the cash into the windmill again
As the sea breezes past at half-past 10
Massive telescope pointed at your nether regions
Talking slow and out of reason

Nothing unusual happening
Float like a fabulous gentleman
While I’m dropping off topics at the game of bridge
Milking phrases from a milkbar casually
Keeping messages in my head momentarily

Undergraduate of the pre-emptive guess
Coming down with burning hot brightlessness
Spreading chocolate sprinkles on a piece of bread
Taking everything seriously
When she confiscates your flight of fantasy
I’ll be contacting everyone to leave them alone
I’ll be cloying for a piece of birthday cake
For the moment I’ll sit back and salivate

While the Confessor professes professionally
With the clearest view of shadowing the clarity
I smell the sense of cheese in what you’re asking me
So I’m bending over backwards to stand up straight
My floodlights filter all that hate
Like a disapproving gumtree

Feeling the small town mentalist ambivalence
While I’m passing through the city of heinousness
Never really knowing quite what she meant
As the testimonies settled down to pitch a tent
Pure massacre neutering everyone’s lunch hour
All the eunuchs of yesterday’s healing power
Get up and march to the rhythm of the madness
Speaking nasty on the lack of anything posing as better
With a poignant song played by the Great Forgetter
Kids are happy and healthy with Han Solo
Cause the “grown-ups” wear their gowns while walking around
And they take no blame for anything and why should they have to? Exactly.

So the bubblegum peels off the packaging slowly
To reveal the magic mayhem of some macaroni
Respecting everything that don’t give a care
Cause you slept in the car, afraid of bears
(They found him languishing with oblivion
Considering all the fickle flippancy we’re living in)

Now they’re lost in a multiplex of pseudo-macho
Surrounded by a coughing fit, giving a lecture on lassos
Hosed down by all the fashion glitterati
Leaving themselves on the dancefloor all wide-open
Body-popping to sirens of sympathy
Polishing the glibness of reality
Rubbing shoulders while I’m handcuffed here in sandwich wrap
Then I’m chained to the comfort of a distant fizzle
While a million people wake up simultaneously
I’d love to pack my bags and go travelling
And the crickets and birds speak in harmony
As you snuff out the new elaborateness you’re after
And your imagination’s broadcast at the stadium
It feels hard to feel like you’re really thinking, then…
Screaming in the fields of atrocious frowns
Embracing all the things you’ve seen in your town
As the lights flash and sirens blare when you do right
And all you wanna do is swing on a tire
She’s break-dancing down at the billabong
Doing some artwork in a pink and white bikini/thong
But you don’t want anyone to think you’re crazy so
You’re gonna love it all despite being lazy

Everything’s quiet on the North Western front
Sneering like a snail without common sense

Funny little feeling tonight of fitting in
Looking like a need to get high
Taking home what I know is right
Believing when I look to the sky but still grounded.

When you’re lost and they’re caustically laughing so hard
It seems handy to be joyous and distant at such times; thine and mine.

Green and gold, red white and blue
I love me, we love you
Floating off with a leprous breeze
Shaking hands with everything
Floating off with a flightless bird
Tasmanian tiger with a relaxed expression drinking wine
Waterfall made of urine
Scum of the limits of misgivings
Take me back to that new place at last
Where we’ll forget everything fast.

PACK UP YOUR TROUBLES

Send it on a boat, far, far away
Put it on a train, leaving today
Pack up your troubles

Feed 'em to the wilderness, all around
Stick 'em in a suitcase, buried in the ground
Pack up your troubles
Pack up your troubles, baby

Dump 'em in a canyon, filled with dynamite
Put 'em in car, push that car off a cliff, late at night
It'll be no trouble

Nail 'em to the werewolf
That's been runnin' after me
Turn around quickly and
Bite him on the knee
'Till he's seeing double

While you take of your scurvy
And I take off tonight
In a spaceship, well our friendship
Will be blessed by the moonlight
I'll be back tomorrow

IT'S JUST PART OF LIFE

All the places you've been bruised
Were works in progress
Have been put to good use
'Cause there's a beach on your forehead now

You catchin' my drift, it wasn't my cause
But unfortunately a drifter's
All that I was

Make it known
The stage was alight
Ah, but the lights were all blown
And I had to sweep the broken glass
From your feet

I'm sorry
I just can't explain
I don't know why
It's just part of life

ANYWAY

All the people are gettin' together
Last night of your stormy weather
And I'm glad that you
Blew my head apart
With your art

It wasn't what I expected
Or even what I thought might happen
Now I think I'm gettin'
Back to where I was

Six months ago,
When I was sober
And I told you that things would work out
Seems that I was right about that
Anyway

Anyway, anyway
Any, any, anyway
Is the word used in place of
Many things that many people
Might not say

Like bad communication
Like a slight dislocation
Inarticulation
Happens some days

And...

I stand for hinted truth and
My ability to
Piss out your car window
At eighty miles an hour

But I change my mind so often
That I'm running out of options
When it comes to making friends
I'm still learning how to agree

How to drink my beer correctly
I mean, cheers to those
Who helped me
Although I suppose
They drink as much as me (a lot)

But I'm passing out much less than before
Drifting through time with only one oar
On my mind
'Cause she's in charge of the other side (of the boat)
And we're paddling in seperate directions

A new start is necessary
Sometime, anytime
I'm wary that it might come down to
Saying "anyway..."

Anyway, anyway
Any, any, anyway
Is the word used in place of
Many things that many people
Might not say
