I'm getting retrenched!

The law firm i work for fucked up and have lost a big Government contract for legal services of which a department of about 30-40 people (inc me) depend, so all will be without work in 4 weeks.

We are all about to get retrenched! eek

I've been at the firm for 14 years and havn't worked anywhere else for a long time. Anywhere else I go will discover what a slacker I am! omg

Lucky or me I was already planning to leave anyway and have another job tee'd up for more dough giggle.

However, it is very devastating for alot of my colleagues, although most will have no trouble getting re-employed. There were a few tears at work a couple of days ago when we heard.

Another law firm that does the same work. My wife actually works there (in another area) and they have been keen to get me there for a while.

The atmosphere at work must just be horrible right now.

What a sad situation.

14 years at one place. Wow...I've never even lived in one place for 14 years. EVER..in my entire life.

I'm glad that you were one step ahead of the axe, even not knowing the axe was about to drop!

Good luck to you and your co-workers!
