ill how could you even have done it! When I was pregnant with my second, my first was not even one, I would be puking every time he threw up or I had to change his nappy, never mind other people's mess.

not sure about the exact tip. but know they'd tip like 2 or 3 bucks a night if it was more than 2 or 3 days they where staying. some would tip 5 bucks or sometimes a dollar a night (which i think is pretty low) there was one rich(i assume) and nice man who'd tip 20 bucks everynight he was there for 4 days, which helped a lot on days when i had fare to work and not back lol

I do Anx...and, frankly, I'm one of those neat visitors who cleans up after themselves before I go out or check out...but, still, I leave a twenty per day/one night.

I match my bill whenever I dine out /drink out usually...Why?...

1) I can afford to...
2) Most servers deserve it...
3) I don't bother with figuring out that percentage shit...

lol neutral

When I go out I expect to pay...

For Food Servers:

Food servers receive a low hourly wage because of the income they receive in gratuities, or tips. Follow these guidelines for tipping at a restaurant or café.

Steps:

1.Tip 15% of the overall bill, minus the tax, in most cases. Depending on the service, 15%-20% is the common range.

2.Tip an extra 5% (a total of 20%) if the restaurant is a highly rated establishment or if a large party is dining and the gratuity is not automatically added to the tab.

3.Add the gratuity to the overall bill, which includes alcohol but does not include tax.

4.Consider scribbling a note on your check if you wish to acknowledge someone on the staff who went out of his way for you.

5.Leave a lesser tip if you are unhappy with the service. A word with the server, in addition, is also appropriate.

Tips:

If applicable, it's appropriate to give the coat-check attendant, the ladies' room attendant and the men's room attendant one dollar. The parking attendant should receive a a tip of two dollars. Other restaurant help, such as the traveling musician, may be tipped as seen fit.

The word "tip," which originated in England, was originally an acronym for the phrase "to insure promptness."

I remember what it was like...don't worry honey...I ALWAYS tip at least 20%. If I'm feeling REALLY generous and/or hammered, I've been known to tip 30-50%!!

hmmm your generosity may be a little rich for my blood.

there was one time i went to a place in chicago called the mashed potato club (which sadly no longer exists) and there was an ANCIENT drag queen there named miss barbie who looked really sad and would walk around with a tray of jello shots and say, in this really pathetic little voice, "jello shots? tips? jello shots? tips?"

i thought to myself, OH GOD THAT COULD BE ME ONE DAY IF I DON'T GET IT TOGETHER!!!

so i gave miss barbie a nice tip.

Bad tippers, non-tippers, and generally rude/difficult customers get a reputation real quick, word gets around. When we saw someone coming in we knew was trouble, we'd tell the hostess not to sit them in our section, or we would intentionally not clear our tables till they sat them somewhere else, or we would offer the table to one of the newbie servers and be like "hey I'm kinda swamped right now, you can have that table if you want". They get passed around like a hot potato because noone wants to wait on them. What comes around goes around.

I left a twenty for a 5-night stay when I went to Virginia Beach. That was for all the sand they had to clean up after us, even though the cleaning crew was less-than-spectacular (there was a dead bug in the sitting area for 2 days!!!) but nevertheless it was clean enough.
