Now I am sitting in a steaming pile of parental-disciplinarian guilt.
But I am not going to apologize. I am not going to butter him up. He knows why he got the spanky spank. He know that I love him.

He had it coming. He'd been asking for it all weekend. I warned and warned and warned and then I had no choice. If you tell your kid that you're going to spank him or her and you don't do it, then you have failed to show your kid that you are a person of your word.
They will not take what you say seriously, ever.
They will not respect you.

So, I feel like crap. But I gotta do what I gotta do.

I know some so-called 'progressive' parents won't like the fact that I spank my kid, but I believe strongly in spanking. It is how I was raised. I was a good kid. I haven't got a criminal record. I am a tax payer and a registered voter.I am not a crack head and I respect my elders.
I have to be consistent with this boy of mine. I am raising him alone. And I have to be uh, tough. Not hard, just tough. Because I will be damned if my son grows up to be some lazy, hoodrat, lost cause of a nigga with the whole damn world blaming it on the fact that he was raised by me- a Black single mother.

i understand. out of my 3 sons my second child thought he could yell and jump at me. needless to say, he never did it again. i had to bring him down to a childs level. i know we all dont like doing it but sometimes it has to be done, especially if your a single mother raising boys.

My brother and I received spankings when we were little, but we weren't extremely bad,so we didn't get too many.

my dad used to march me to my room by the hair! I do the same with the kids but holding on to their ear - I don't pull, but if they do it hurts. Even just telling them that will happen if they don't stop their carry on, usually works.
