My wireless connection card keeps going offline
Does anybody know what could be causing it ?

Also, if you are running any kind of torrent/file sharing program, it's probabbly crashing your router with too many connections. If thats the case, check out the forums on sites like utorrent.com, for some suggestions on how to adjust your settings to prevent this.

If you happen to be using a Motorola SBG900 it's a lost cause with Torrent programs, the router part of it crashes repeatedly no matter what you do.

Also, check your Wireless Configuration Utility to make sure it's set to only connect to your router, and not to the first available router, it may be trying to connect to your neighbors sometimes.

You will probabbly need a username and password to access it, which should be in the manual that came with the router.

I'm on a routrer with more people and somebody has lost the router's users manual

I've never had this problem before tho

If it's is the channel problem, the reason it may not have happened before is because someone nearby wasn't on the same channel as you before but perhaps they recently switched to that channel.

Generally, with file sharing programs, specifically torrent programs, you need to do the following

1.) Patch your TCPIP.sys to raise the limit of connections (http://lvllord.de)

2.) Set up a static IP address and configure port-forwarding in your router (http://portforward.com). If you do this you will also need to open this port up in your firewall.

3.) Run a speed test to see how fast your upload and download speeds are, then adjust the settings within your given program based on these.

The forums over at utorrent have alot of discussion on optimizing your computer for file sharing, but they are mainly aimed at that program
