Anyone familiar with the drug "Indocin" or "Indomethacin"? Just seeing if anyone has any experience with this drug.

This is a serious post for once! You need a PDR, dude. That's a Physicians Desk Reference, btw. It's got all the drugs in it up to the time it's published. [Edited 8/2/06 13:20pm]

Moderator | it stops swelling and pain... that's all I know.
Took it for my knee a while back, oh... and it can make your tummy hurt. In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

if you're worried about it i would check it out at www.rxlist.com
you can type in a drug, even if you don't know exactly how it's spelled and it will come up with a list of drugs that sound like it, then you can see their side effects, etc.

I know what Indocin is, it's used to treat inflamation and pain. It's an NSAID similar to Motrin and Naproxin. It's been around for a long time.
The major side effects are gastro-intestinal problems so she should eat when she takes the drug. Not just a couple bites of something, but a small meal. It can raise blood pressure too. I'm sorry to hear she has Eagle's Syndrome, that's a very painful problem to have to deal with.Anti- inflamatories are the first line of treatment, if Indocin doesn't do the trick, then there are other NSAIDs that may help. If they don't work then there is a surgical treatment for the problem. "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind"-Dr Seuss
