The greatest popcorn that Ive ever had in my life is Garrett's Popcorn in Chicago. Its incredibly caloric with real butter and all but incredibly worth it!

Kettle corn
2/3 cup popcorn 1/4 cup cooking oil 1/4 cup sugar salt add food coloring for a festive bowl of popcorn. Heat Oil over medium heat in a large skillet with a tight fitting lid. Add Popcorn and continue to heat until first kernel pops. quickly stir in sugar until it is dissolved. Cover and continue to shake skillet, popcorn may burn, be careful. Amaretto Caramel Corn
3 qt Popped popcorn 1 c Unblanched whole almonds 1/2 c Margarine or butter 1/2 c Brown sugar; packed 1/2 c Amaretto Heat oven to 250~. Arrange popcorn on 2 jelly roll pans; sprinkle almonds over popcorn. In small saucepan, melt margarine over low heat; stir in the brown sugar and amaretto. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Boil 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Pour over popcorn; toss until thoroughly coated. Bake at 200~ for 1 hour; spread on wax paper to cool. Store in loosely covered container. | |

Caramel Corn (microwave)
3 qt. popped corn 1 1/2 c. peanuts 1 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. white corn syrup 1/2 c. butter Dash salt 1/2 tsp. soda Place popped corn in brown paper bag. Separately put remaining ingredients in dish in microwave EXCEPT soda. . . bring to boil for 2 minutes. Then stir in soda. ***warning! sauce will double in size with the soda so use a container large enough*** Pour over popped corn in bag and shake it. Place bag in microwave for 1 1/2 minutes. . . take out bag and shake it. . .then zap it again for another 1 1/2 minutes. . . pour out on cookie sheet and cool. | |

Barbecued Popcorn
6 tb Hot air-popped popcorn 1/3 c soft margarine 3 tb Chili sauce 1 ts Onion powder 1 ts Chili powder 1/2 ts Salt 2 tb Grated Parmesan cheese Place popcorn in large bowl. In small saucepan, melt margarine. Stir in chili sauce, onion and chili powder and salt. Pour chili mixture gradually over popcorn, tossing to mix well. Sprinkle with cheese and toss. | |

CHOCOLATE CARAMEL POPCORN
1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips 1/4 c. water 4 qt. popped popcorn 1. Place caramels, chocolate chips and water in a large, microwave-safe bowl. 2. Microwave on HIGH for 3 minutes or until mixture is smooth. Stir every minute. 3. Place popcorn in a large bowl. 4. Pour caramel mixture over popcorn. Let cool for a few minutes. Toss until well-coated. | |

i do different variations of the caramel / candied corn ones but i don't use a recipe lol... i just throw stuff in a bowl and heat until it looks "right" but that wouldn't be much help here so i went looking for actual recipes my halloween popcorn balls are an annual tradition amongst friends and family and there is this microwave kettle corn thing that i blame for me gaining weight this winter damn it i have tried the carmel/chocolate covered stuff that was in a girl guide popcorn tin at my sisters... it looks weird but tastes great! the amaretto thing looks interesting... but i wouldn't personally care for the bbq one... but some people go for that kinda thing! lol i'm done now | |
