I had to go through several days of 100 degree heat here in the SF Bay Area last week (including 105 one day) so now it is your turn razz .

Stepping off the plane yesterday I thought they turned MPLS into a sauna.

It's awful.

I've done nothing at home but lay on my bed with a fan blowing on me.

pout

Sorry I cannot hear you....it must be the heat on your end distorting the sound... lol

Just kidding, I actually sympathize with you after just going through a heat wave myself.

sad do they have cooling centers in MPLS? i couldn't imagine being without an AC right now. even with one, i still need a fan blowing on me right now. i carry it around with me like it's an oxygen tank or something. lol

I'm off to Darin's right now to watch tv and enjoy his AC. lol Usually I'm ok without it, basement apartment and all, but this 103 degree nonsense is just over the top.

In Detroit, the heat index is above 100 degrees again. They have opened cooling centers in a dozen public libraries as well as rec centers and churches. I think cities handle extreme heat pretty well these days. They set up hotlines where peeps can call for help. Its really rather organized. There was a terrible rash of deaths in Chicago a decade or so ago when there was a heat wave. I think alot of cities learned big lessons from that.

i'm only taking 10 more weeks of this kind of weather, if it goes beyond that i'm moving to fucking alaska! :igloo:

i find it haunting that An Inconvient Truth is at the theaters right now. this heatwave is just helping prove the global warming theory. kinda scary, huh?

Can you believe some folks are sunbathing in this weather? i think it's dangerous, especially for guys, unless lover likes roasted nuts. confused

people who revel in this kind of heat are sick and need to be put away. at the very least, they need to keep their sick desires to themselves.

It's not just the midwest. It's supposed to be 99F degrees in NYC the next two days. I love when it's baking on garbage day and I have to smell all that toasted trash on the sidewalk next to the supermarket and bowling alley on my way to the subway.

I shouldn't have joked you.

The power went out about 30 minutes ago and came immediately back on.
But I just found out a second ago that my AC is not working. neutral (and it's not the circuit breaker)

That overheated full garbage dumpster smell just wakes you right up in the morning. (in my best Willow Rosenberg voice) Whoo!

It's almost as bad as that overheated full homeless guy smell in the subway. The one guy that sends people running is the one on the J train with no shoes--even in the winter. His feet have turned black.
