Weekend in L.A. ...Give me some inside tips

Hi Fam,

Wifey and I are hitting L.A. Thurs-Mon. We are staying in Sunset Strip area. We are mid 30's and enjoy R&B music and great fresh food.

Any ideas?

I would like to know your fav. place to see a movie, hear a good DJ, or get some great appetizers.

Thank you!

Bobby

See who is playing at the house of blues as you are on the same street. Take a trip too Malibu, nice beach only 15 minutes away. Eat some great food. Do you like sushi, go to Miyagi's, If you like hot dogs, Pinks, If you like taco's King Taco. Also check out Dublins, its a great Irish pub down the street from you. You can also go and check out Universal city walk and go see a taping of Jay Leno in Burbank, tickets are free to see a taping and its only five minutes from you. Universal city walk is a cool spot also.. I will think of more things later.

Also Pick Up and L.A. Weekly Magazine and a L.A. Times and Look in the Calendar Section of the Times. Both Magz will have a great Idea of what to do.

Hollywood and Highland has a nice upscale club that caters to an older crowd you may also enjoy that. Be sure to also see some of the great architecture such as Disney Hall in Downtown L.A. and Union Station in downtown L.A. and If you are at union station go across the street to OLVERA STREET It is the best, freshest MExican food you will ever taste!

Thanks to those that have responded so far. We've seen L.A. enough to avoid the real obvious tourist stuff. I am still seeking advice from the locals on places they dig.

CityGuide says to eat at Lala's. Can anyone co-sign?

...Also If I want Roscoe's - which one should I go to?
