Yeah, I have to hand it to you, that was a good trade. Of course, we were devestated when you got Randy Johnson and Carl Pavano too - how's that workin' out for ya?

absolutely horrible. lol

But we're working with basically a 2 man starting rotation, three starting players on the DL and no bullpen, and Boston still can't pull away.....that's all I'm saying.

Boston's starting rotation is almost as bad as the Yankees'. Matt Clement, David Wells--what have they done for the Red Sox lately? Tim Wakefield has also been a non-factor. Schilling, Ortiz and Papelbon have been carrying that team all year.

You know, as much as I support my team, I don't think the Sox or the Yanks are going to do much if/when they get to the post season.

I also don't think Detroit will do much either, but I guess we'll see.....

mad Fucking Steinbrenner or whatever the fuck his asshole name is! I can't wait till there is a salary cap on baseball. It's all about who can afford the best players, it sucks!

And isn't there some new thing this year with the playoffs? There won't be a Sox/Yankee playoff anymore if both teams make it. That will save NY from being humiliated again...WONK WONK! wink

I admit I'm mystified by Detroit's success this year. Minnesota sent two of the best starting pitchers in baseball against them this weekend and the Tigers almost won both games. Someone, somewhere must have made a deal with Satan. We're Yankees fans so we know--how does any team with Kenny Rogers as their #1 starter have the best record in the major leagues? lol

lurking there is a salary cap...the yankees paid more in penalties for going over the cap, then the marlins pay their whole team in salary

Do you know how much Georgie pays in revenue sharing?!?! I mean, he has to pay other teams just for the simple fact that his team makes alot of money. And here's the real kicker, those teams that receive that money are under ZERO obligation whatsoever to invest that money in the team, they can just put it right in their pocket.

That's right. The Marlins get something like $30 million in revenue sharing from all the other teams, yet their payroll is less than $20 million. Where's that extra $10+ million going?

This season has been a dream come true for baseball fans in metro Detroit. I have been on cloud 9 all summer and Ive been to 10 games so far. Thats more games than Ive been to in the past 10 years. Anyway, the Tigers have won 70 games so far and its just July! They just gave away the last game of the series with a 3-0 lead in the 8th. The errors started rolling in, some sloppy pitching occured and the #1 team in baseball let one get away. The Tigers are going to finish strong and they'll be downright dangerous come October. We really dont need that lefty like we previously thought. Demetri Young is back from Toledo and is hitting the ball well. The Tigers are looking great! And ohhhhh that pitching! How do u say it jerseyk? Forgettaboutit! lol

I was talking to a vendor at my seat during the Tigers/A's series and he also works at Jacob's Field in Cleveland. He said that a bottle of water costs $2.75 there while it costs $3.50 here. I asked him why, he said Detroit was a bigger market. shrug I say they're ripping us off.

The same dude that owns the Detroit Tigers owns Little Caesers Pizza. They have their famous HOT & READY promotion where u get a large pizza to go without having to wait or whatever. They sell them for about $5 at your neigborhood LC but at Comerica Park, the cost 3x as much! Its the most retarded thing. $5 for a pizza slice too. wtf?

That's pretty funny.... a fan of the team with the second highest payroll in baseball moaning about a salary cap. If there were a salary cap the Sox would have to dump a bunch of players to get under it.

Try rooting for the Brewers/Twins/A's/Royals etc. I doubt they even bother selling copies of Moneyball in Boston.

So do you believe it will be the Twins or the A's? Also, I don't think both Boston and New York will make it.

That's because Randy Johnson had heatstroke or something that day. And then Shawn Chacon didn't help any by giving up those runs in relief. That's why the Yanks traded him to the Pirates today.
