Will it hurt his career? Not as long as his films make money.

I know what you're saying, but jewish people will never go to his films again. And Hollywood has plenty of Jewish people. Does it mean he won't make any more films? Maybe not. But they won't be successful with a mainstream audience. His career, for all intents and purposes, is dead.

You guys are too funny. I just don't like Will Smith and his attitude in interviews. I don't think that much of him as an actor. He didn't have a scandal or anything. I just don't like him. razz

Hollywood and its types have never failed to disappoint on a personal level. I attend things and laugh and have a great time but if real info is attempted to be passed I holler STOP no no no! I don't want to know... I just want to attend his shows and enjoy the music... don't mess it up for me with details.
I am sorry to hear this and shocked... although I have never shouted an anti anything but anxy type of remark... ( Well ok and maybe Althom) I cant say I am guilt free of appearances at times.... IE.. if the pics of me at events were used out of context NO ONE would believe that I was actually a solid 40 year old mother of 2 who is celibate now would they.
DISCLAIMER: I am in no way stating that Mr Mel did not make these remarks so save it! :stop:
I dig art deeply but if you get the stories behind say Rembrandt you find out ( supposedly) he unlawfully had his wife detained in a mental hospital far longer then was prescribed... etc.... also that most of the Christian paintings are just that and done by non believers and mockers etc..... I dig the art.. NOT the individuals...

I have learned to dissect the message and NOT the man as mankind falls short but the truth is still out there.

Another example: I am mad for Martin Luther King Jr. Some have come to say that perhaps I am unaware that he in-fact was a womanizer and unfaithful blah blah ... Maybe he was and MAYBE HE WASN'T... but nothing and no one can undo the truth and brilliance in his speeches...

I choose to follow the message and not the man... One mans life can and will take many turns... Saints are rare.... I hope at the end of my days not to be devalued for the inacurracys and errors and remembered for the the stuff that mattered.

yeah muse, i hear ya. i still like woody allen's work despite all that happened with mia and soon-yi, and while i think the man is kinda ick, i still think the artist is brilliant.

but the thing about woody is, he transgressed in a way that had no kind of bearing on the public. that situation was a family incident, and he wasn't openly advocating marriage with your adopted daughter or any of his behavior. it was just something he did and that he dealt with.

on the other hand, i can't give mel a pass because he's said insulting things about too many groups of people. the man is a bigot, and he seems pretty okay with that fact. i used to be a big fan of fishbone until they started putting homophobic lyrics in their albums. i couldn't get with that and feel good about myself listening to it, so i got rid of all my fishbone stuff. if i were a mel gibson fan, i don't know if i'd feel good about that right now.

I would hope by the end of Mels days, he will know the error of hatered and truely understand the concept he presented on a personal level... if not what a tragedy. ( After all he can't face the end of days and say eek but i did'nt know now can he? )I do believe light is often shed upon our dark spots not to disgrace us unto death but to grace us with the possibility in this life to see the error is our ways and make a change.....

We all want to develop past our limitations and failings I would hope.... if only we could send foolish pride and humility packing and humble ourselves....

Oh I fully support the casting of light unto dark.... in my way of thinking it enables us to develop and grow ( If we are going to... or destroy us if we are not) I just see us each as clay whose final cast isn't set unto the last days..... Call me hopeful and silly but I hope getting caught in my errors will develop me into a better person and I hope getting caught in theres also will create a better them....

This guy has been a creep in real life and interviews since the 80's and it hasn't stopped him yet. I used to be real conflicted about it as a teenager, being all gaga over the fact he had an exceptionally hot looking frame yet it was hiding a damaged brain. Now, I just realize he's damaged goods and attempt to enjoy his shallow roles when I can.

More like verbal diarhea.

What these people are like as human beings should come first before how talented they are. If they are slime then people should not support what they do anymore. This guy was drunk and his real thoughts came out. But he will probably be forgiven by Hollywood. sad but true.
