how to SAVE DISTRESSED JEANS???

So I have a pair of jeans that I love but I really should have returned them b/c they were pretty distressed when I BOUGHT them. Now the shits have a big rip in the thigh which I don't mind but I'm seriously wondering how many more times I can accidentally stick my foot through this hole & keep making it bigger - I'm gonna rip these shits apart soon sigh

So what - can you buy new fronts & keep the backs of the legs?? lol

And the first person to suggest patches DIES fight

sigh

Thanks! biggrin
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

If you sew a backstitch where it is ripping, that will help slow it down. But you are going to have to throw them away eventually.

nod I have a pair ripped in the back of the legs and I wear colored tights under them. Sometimes with fishnet pantyhose too. When they rip a little more I'll turn them into shorts. biggrin

Be gentle with them for as long as you can. Wash them with Woolite, on gentle cycle, or have them dry cleaned. Inevitably, you're gonna have to give 'em up. Just try and make 'em last as long as you can!

exerpt from O Magazine:

"First Aid for Jeans"
From too-worn-to-wear to born-again: New York City-based denimtherapy.com reconstructs jeans with denim thread - no pathes - in two weeks (estimated cost: $7 per inch). Denim Revival (323-852-7117), which ships nationwide, is a California vintage-clothing boutique as well as a repair business. And if you're in Los Angeles, take your tired & poor denim oldies to be resurrected at the legendary Simon Master Tailor (8042 West Third Street; no mail orders).
