when your yelling at your girlfriend, wife, kids or whoever and they start laughing at you? Does this make you even more outraged? Why? Is it because you realize your acting like an idiot in the first place? Or is it cause you don't know your acting like an idiot, and can't understand why the persons laughing?

I have known Michael ( TR my husband ) 20 yrs and not once has he ever raised his voice or yelled at anyone

I cant stand yelling men, it just makes me want to puke!

I've got a very short fuse ... it would usually be at the pathetic little tasks that take up so much time and emotional energy to fix afterwards. Most of my anger comes out destruction of personal property or angry work just cuz it's the best way to calm down when there is no other alternative left.

ok well the question is
why are you lauging or smiling?
it would get me mad if someone was laughing or smiling without verbalizing why

if it is to void my reasons of getting mad, and basically saying that my reasons mean nothing, then yes i too would start yelling

if its to calm me down and see things a lil more clearly, then verbalize it, laughing isn't always the smartest thing to do in such a situation unless you're verbalizing it...

maybe that's where your problem lies...

I understand BUT he's an adult and if he's going to stand there screaming then he needs to know its not on to do that, laughing is one way of letting him know. There are other ways, yell back even louder till his ear drums pop, or walk away. First you need to deal with the hysterical yelling before you get to the actual arguement, dont you think?
