Glad you recognize that, but a lot of people on both sides of the fence have ill-will towards bisexuals. You believe your experience (or coming) is/was harder, but honestly you don't know that

Have you ever heard of someone being beat up or kicked out their home or being fired for being bisexual?

Yes. Not fired from their job, but being beat up and kicked out, yes. Not as often as a gay person only because bi's don't really have to come out as teenagers the way gays feel they have too in adolesence (sp?)

Why are you so eager to discount another group's experience? Are you baiting?

I'm not baiting at all. It's just that if I don't hear about something happening, it must not be happening at all. Keeps my mind at ease. You know, ignorance is bliss and all that. I've never heard of bisexuals being beat up or anything like that.

Well, I've never heard of a friend, family member or parent being more at ease that someone is bi rather than gay. There attitude is pretty much the same. Just because you don;t hear about it doesn't mean it's not happening. Most bi's are in the closet because of unacceptance. If I knew you, I would be afraid to tell you about my bi experience because of your comments on this thread

I can tell you that now. If you ask around, a lot of parents would tell you that they'd rather their child be bisexual than gay. Hell, the night I came out to my mom, that's the first thing she asked me, and I gave her a quick and prompt "NO."

You have no right to say what's hard or not hard to do in regards to other people.

Everyone's experience is different and unless you are in their exact shoes, you really have no idea how it is for them.

It's best to just talk about your own experiences.

Yup nod

I'm not trying to gang up on you. It just seems like you think being bisexual is easy or easier than being gay

If anything, I would think being bi would be harder...no one wants to take them seriously, which I think is really kinda fucked up.

Well...when you have people assuming that because you are bi, it means that you automaticly think you can have "one of each" and thus are a petri dish for whatever is out there, and you have parents who just assume that because you are bi, you can "act str8" when they want you too, and you have gay people allways telling you that you just need to make up your damn mind one way or the other (when you already HAVE, duh), and there are people who still wanna beat the shit outta you just cuz you're queer in general. Then, yeah...it is hard.

How about Deviating from the expected or normal; strange: a queer situation.
Odd or unconventional, as in behavior; eccentric

that doesn't scream "bisexual" though. Hell, bisexual is "normal". More people are bi then are willing to admit.
