my pastor caught me leaving before Bible Study started...

well, i was already at church today for a meeting because i'm on a committee, and after our meeting was over (6:45pm) then bible study begins at 7:00. In the meeting our pastor expressed to us that he expected us to be at Bible Study tonight since we were already at church. and in the while, i knew that i wasn't going to be staying for bible study, simply because I didn't feel like it...but it was no need in him knowing this right?

so here I go in my car while other cars are pulling up. I check my cell phone for voicemail messages, put that down, put my car in gear, something tells me to look up and there is my pastor standing outside his study with the door open and his arms wide saying "umm, hey where are you going?"

embarrassed, i quickly pointed to my watch (hopefully he would recognize that meant that i had to be somewhere) then once i did this he started laughing. it was crazy, but i still pulled off.

is it a crime to just feel like i didn't want to go? yeesh.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

i mean i believe in God and all, I do things for my church, but i'm still not the most religious person you will meet. I don't shout on Sunday's but I don't put Kanye on blast when i pull into the parking lot neither.

i'm just me. i just didn't feel like going.

i hate when church people act like you are suppose to be at every single function just because they see you doing things with in church. I don't get it.

no i'm not spending my thursday and friday nights at church....you know what my pastor said, "oh i understand you are young and you have to have fun, but i just hope where you are going is 'sanctified', you know, not like at some club or something"...low and behold thats sho'nuff where i be at...at the club, drinking, but i know not to go up in church the next day with a hangover....aww shit let me stop rambling....

Yeah, I hate that. We have 2 pastors. The older one is like that, but the younger one is a really cool guy.

Are pastors supposed to dictate like that?

if you ask my opinion, i think not...but it really doesn't matter if they are or aren't suppose to dictate, i won't be dictated by nobody, obviously.....

That paster sounds like a royal pain in the ass. I'm so glad I stay away from organized religion.

Apparently, Bible study is a different matter. You have to do it when the pastor tells you to wink

Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my father in Heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.

What does that have to do with trying to force someone to go to Bible study?

Absolutely nothing, I was talking about Rein's reply about praying anywhere. Which is true, of course. But I was pointing out that it's also nice to meet and pray in fellowship. rose
