George Lucas needs to sue these nutters... "the sword of truth" is basically a fricking light-sabre.

there is a store here in my neighborhood with old comics, and i saw a new mutants issue (which was my fave as a kid) and thought repeatedly after that day that i really really really would love to buy the whole new mutants run and read them all again

i had the blue beetle comics from before DC "acquired" a bunch of characters from another comic book company...i thought that was a weird turn of events.

You know DC killed him last year, right? And it doesn't look like he's coming back like Supes. Somewhat related to the Wonder Woman thread, she was the one who snapped the neck of Beetle's killer, Maxwell Lord.

i always saw blue beetle as DC's attempt to develop a spiderman kind of character.

Yes there is--Jamie Reyes (part of DC's new drive to create more ethnic superheroes) and he actually has superpowers this time around.

so this is like the black firestorm and the asian atom? so dumb. it worked with green lantern because it's more about the costume and the powers than it is about the characters. if they were smart, they'd do something with black lightning and katana and john stewart and cyborg and and and...they've got lots of great characters of color, they don't need to revamp a z-list character like blue beetle or a couple of retro faves like atom or firestorm. that just comes off looking desperate when they don't need to be.

ALSO, i was recently thinking about this...DC could do something really cool in this day and age with the middle east vibe of captain marvel, especially with all that's going on in the world right now. is that happening in the comics?

Exactly like that. Lesbian Batwoman might be part of that same agenda--trying to make the DC universe more diverse. hmmm

Too bad Vibe is dead. giggle George PĂ©rez always said he was lamest Latin superhero ever created.

There might be something going on with Black Adam, the Captain Marvel villian who runs his own country in the middle east.
